 This is chapter Chat for this week,

I made it out of sharply, and paper. The hardest bit was probably drawing the whole turtle and coloring it. The easiest thing was drawing the bowl for the turtle. I would definitely want to draw another challenging thing like a turtle. I think I a supernova.

Case Closed

Today Mrs Taaffe came and confest the crime of the missing dongle and chocolate. Team Whetu have been working on a crime scene from the start of the term and Whetu have just solved the case. It was very hard at the start but I got through it. 

Evidence Mrs Taaffe parks out by the office, her fingerprint are all over the place, she went to the hairdressers, She was there on the day, she cut here rist on the window trying to open the door, she likes mini chocolates, and she has trouble casting so she used the dongle.

Who, Mrs Taaffe.

What, Mrs Taaffe stole the chocolate and the dongle. 

Were, Whetu classroom at Ngatea Primary School on Friday 9th October.  

Why, Because she had trouble casting with her computer and because she felt like chocolate.

How, Mrs Taaffe disabled the alarm for the school in the office then unlocked the door in Whetu then stole the dongle and chocolate.

Finger prints

 

Today I did my fingerprints with Shawn. 

I used inc and paper to put my fingerprints on it. It turns out that I have all three whorls, arch, loop, and a double loop I was really happy when I found out that I had a double loop. Shawn only had whorls which were different and unique and I liked that. It was really fun to do I would like to do sometime again.  

 

First day back at school.

When I came back to school I saw that the window was broken. And then when I went to go and put my avatar across I saw that I could not put it across because someone has broken in and eat a bar of a chocolate bar.  He or she smashed the vase and spillet some sort of liquid and left a hep of footprints and a pen and Drivers license. And that's what it was like back on the first day. I was definitely not expecting that for the first day of school. I was also excited about the crime scene.

Letter of the week.

Science, Crystal

 

For this week's option, I chose science.

For science, we did how to make crystal first we hade to get borax and hot water. then we poured the hot water in and waited for three hours and then we got it out it looked promising I really liked how the crystal formed really well the bad thing was the crystal had formed up and so it stuck to the pipe cleaner. But other than that it was really good. I had a lot of help by Eli and Chris.

RAD RHYTHM

For our opt-in, I did Rad Rhythm.

I have learnt about the beat and rhythm wich is like a clock ticking.

I enjoyed how we got to use drums and sticks for the beat and rhythm and we got to make our own song with the drums.

Next time I would like to work with someone else to make a different song.

       

 

Animal Report

Chapter Challenge

This is what I did for the chapter challenge. I draw Sarah holding a skateboard and behind here is a half pipe. As you can see some drawings on the halfpipe. I really like how I did the Ss. The hardest part was drawing Sarah. The east part was coloring in.     

 

Whetu Challenge

clockwise and anticlockwise

 

This is what I did for clockwise and anticlockwise.

It told me to move half-turn clockwise and some other things. I really liked how it was easy and hard at the same time. I liked the clockwise one the best. I think I did a good job at this.    

Whetū Workshops Reflection

 

During Term 2 and 3 the Whetū students have had the opportunity to be involved in a range of different workshops.

The workshop that I have enjoyed participating in the most has been fitness and science.

The new learning that I have learnt is science because when we did the milk and the vinegar experiment. When we tipped it in the milk started to curdle.  

What I have most enjoyed about the workshops are that I got to choose what I got to do. 

 I am interested in learning more about the science experiment and if you could add anything else to make the milk curdle.

ART

This is my art for this term.
For this term, I have created this magnificent piece of art. The hardest bit was pastle and choosing the color. The easiest bit was choosing the thing I was going to draw. I think I did a very good job and a supernova.
   

 This week's literacy mystery was who stole the carrots.

I worked with Johan we found out how stole the carrots the thief was Mrs rabbit.

 This week I chose to join the cooking group workshop option. 

On the first day, we discussed who brought what vegetables.

The second day, we chopped up the vegetables.

On the third day, we put the vegetables in the pot, and then we cooked it then ate it.

The part I like the most was eating it.

 

Should animals be kept in Zoos'

This is my inquiry about Should animals be kept in Zoo's  

I created a poster to show my learning about the question. should animals be kept in Zoos?

yes because they live longer in captivity if you tret them right. My option was the poster.

This was me when I was doing Cross Country.

Cross Country was postponed so we had to do it at the Ngatea domain instead of South farms.

The place I came was 5th I thought I was going to stop but I didn't so I was happy about that because Nathan would have bet me.

I was glad what place I came because I made it into HP.

I did a freakout 1 to 10 chart.

 

I used color in pencils and sharpy.

This is what my group did for this week's whetu challenge.I did all of the jellyfish I also did Spongebob but you could not see it because I could not color it in. I 

worked with Johan, Darius, Kingston, Marley, and Isabell. 

The hard bit was tracing it because I would all ways go of the lines.

The essayist bit was coloring the Jellyfish in.

I really like the Kermit's one because of the detail, background and because they chose the Simpsons it was really cool.

 

Egg Drop Challenge

 The hardest thing to do was blow up the balloons because it was hard and tiring. 

 The I used was the newspaper, Sellotape, strows, paper bag, string, balloons, sock, scissors, and an egg. 

 The easiest thing was to Sellotape everything. 

 I worked with Regan and Christopher.

How old is the game? Who bought the game? 35 years old. What two decades was the game collection from? Nintendo. Why is the Boba Fett action figure so rare? because it is a mandalorian What is the expensive Monopoly set made from? gold.

Literacy mystery

This week I did a literacy myistery with shawn. The anser is Tessa the terrible.

The new learning activity that I have enjoyed the most this term is P.E because there were so really good and fun games like seaweed and golden trial.





Something that has challenged me this term has been the math mystery because each week the clues were getting harder and harder and you had to read the clues properly.





The Whetu Challenge I enjoyed the most was the egg carton challenge because I made some googly eyes out of egg cartons and it was cool. I made it in time and had a good plan.





The opt-in workshop I enjoyed the most was P.E because I liked playing golden child, because I liked sprinting around the courts and shooting balls..





An aim I have for my learning is to get better at my time’s table on TT rockstars.

Math mystery

EGG CARTON CREATION

This week for our Whetu Challenge we created something using egg cartons.

The material I used. Egg carton, kabab sticks, and sharpy.

What I should do next time. I was thinking I might do a pumpkin and a Minions.

It was fun because I added some cool designs.

It was not too hard the only hard bit was when it was hot gluing time.

 For this week the blog challenge was to make a classroom design. As  you can see I put in a whiteboard, two couches, some fairy lights and a table so you can do your work on it. 

Today our challenge was to design an accurate paper plane. We were given a draft piece of paper to trial and a good piece to use once we had tested the accuracy of it.

Before we started I thought this challenge was going to be so easy but it was quite hard.

I decided to use the design of one of my paper plane.

The hardest part was trying to make it go strat.

During our competition time I managed to score about 5.

The culprit was Ruby 

                             The ultimate playground.
                             Replacing the big blue.

The culprit was seb. 

Today I worked with Lachie and Eli.

At first we had trouble with not using

the strows so we had to make a new one.

The easiest thing was taping it together

because there was no problem.

In the end it would not stand up so

I had to hold it at the back.

To make my catapult I worked with Cohen and Johan.

Overall I think that the catapult was really good because it went really really hi.

The most challenging part was putting the rubberband on because it
kept on snaping.

The things that I used to make my catapult were rubberband, spoon

and iceblock sticks.

The culprit was Florence!!!

What has been my highlight this week catching
up with my friends and playing tag.

What was I nervous about this week coming
back to school because I thought I was going to

For dress up day I dressed up as Chiefs supporter.

The funniest thing has happened this week is was the
teacher's dressing up at school.

I think the best dressed person was Logan because
I did not know who he was.

Milk bottle challenge

For this week the class had to make
something out of a milk bottle.
so I made a tracker, for stouts,
ferrets, mice, and rats. The ink
goes on the sponge and food is
on the sponge so the pest walks
on the sponge and then it walks
on the paper and you can
tell what animal it is. I think I
did a supernova. 

The milk bottle creation I made was a tracker for pests

The hardest part was panting

The easiest part was putting the sponge in

I enjoyed making it because it was fun

  

I played Solitaire with Leah today,
it was for my math it was extremely fun

 For this week I did make Fudges birthday cake but instead
I baked Fudges muffins. Leah and I did it together
because she had to make muffins to. I gave two to the builders.
I tasted the muffins they were yum I loved them. I think I did
a supernova.


my nana said they were beautiful.

For ANZAC day my nana told me about a war hero. The man in
the photo is my great-great Grandfather. He was a great man! so
I've been told. I never got to know him which is quite sad.

For this week I
did the jelly bean jar.
I reckon that the color
on the top looked the best.

I draw the turtle dribble.
I used a pencil, color and paper.
Then I added some extra things
to not make it look to plane so
I put in a bowl, a shelf, a rock and
dribble's food, I think that's what 
made it pop.

Easter Friday I learnt how to bake a chocolate cake.
Before I started to bake I found the recipe
on the Chelsea website and I wrote all the
ingredients out in my book also step by step
instructions. I had a little bit of help from Leah
and mum. I really enjoyed it too!

What have been some positives?

E.g. A positive thing about being in lockdown is…….
Spending time with Mum, Dad, and my sisters and not getting Coronavirus
after getting back from Rarotonga.

What have been some challenges?

Wanting to see my friends but not being able to.
